An Introduction to Zarathustra and Zoroastrianism – a Doctrine of Good Thoughts, Words and Deeds

At the SOW blog I have posted three articles introducing Zoroastrianism, the beginning of Zoroaster's (Zarathushtra) mission and a brief history of Zoroastrianism after Zarathushtra died.  You will find these under the titles:

What IS Divine Science University?

Divine Science University, or DSU, is a teaching tool for sharing the wisdom of its participants with others.  Like a university we open our organization up to like-minded and divinely-spirited individuals and organizations who will join with DSU in working towards common objectives.  

Like a college, each individual participant focuses upon the particular field of study they love.  

Academies provide a place for training in arts, sciences, or higher learning.  So one might have an academy to present classes, or train in arts or sciences.  One might have a college for the continuous presentation of wisdom focused upon a particular area. Together the academies and colleges make up the university which is focused upon Divine Science.

All participants of DSU seek to act with awareness and connectedness, promoting good citizenship wherever we are living and operating.  Our desire is to serve others in love, passing on universal knowledge and wisdom that helps one to grow and mature.  In effect DSU desires to be a "research library" for seeking spiritual learning. 

So What Can “I” Do Through DSU

Perplexed Charlie Brown.  He is a decent, considerate, and reflective individual who is deeply sensitive.  His sense of determination regardless of the certainty of an adverse outcome is an inspiration to many.

Like Charlie Brown in this panel, people will commonly ask, “What can ‘I’ do through DSU? I don’t have anything to offer."  These deeply sensitive individuals could use Charlie Brown’s determination, for au contraire, (a VERY little French there), you have divine wisdom that you already possess and share with others.

Do you teach classes, lessons, or serve as an example for others?  Do you find that you wish that you had a resource that you could easily access to share your lessons, videos, audios, or other materials so that others might benefit from them in the future?

Humanities and Divine Science

In the Article Reclaiming the Humanities: Education Beyond Career Training author Walker Larson notes that "the humanities are vanishing because we no longer understand what they’re for."  At Divine Science University (DSU) our mission is sharing wisdom & experience for those who seek illumination in life by providing opportunities to gain knowledge, acquire wisdom and live with integrity.  We are a source of education, so this claim prompted me to delve further. 

This article is primarily about the university education in the humanities, but the broader truth applies to DSU as well. First what are the humanities? The humanities are academic disciplines that study the aspects of human society and culture, including certain fundamental questions asked by humans. These are the “right brain” activities that lend themselves to creativity and inspiration.
